Why Phuket
A mature destination with complex place pressures.
Phuket has a mature tourism economy and a wide range of people and organisations who shape it. The island also faces connected economic, social, environmental, infrastructure and quality-of-life pressures.
That complexity makes Phuket a useful place to learn from real conditions, rather than apply a ready-made model.
What already exists
A documented starting point, not an invented result.
Phuket Tourism 2030: From Voice to Action took place on 19 September 2026. It brought together 285 participants and generated 10 issue/topic groups. An initial core working team of 10 people is continuing the work.
The team is consolidating the 10 topics to identify issues, proposed actions, possible owners, follow-up and evidence of change. This work remains underway.

The Living Lab is a developing learning and action process. Its public record is intended to help people see where the work stands and what still needs to be learned.
It is not a certification scheme, a governing authority, a political-party project, or another discussion-only forum without follow-up.
