Funding & Demonstration Partnerships

Turning place-based pilots into evidence, learning and scalable models.

For foundations, multilateral and public-good programmes, and innovation funds looking for a bounded, evidence-led place-based partner in Thailand. Phuket is where the model is being developed and tested in practice; work elsewhere is project-scoped with appropriate local partners.

What funding can accelerate

  • • Public evidence infrastructure
  • • Biodiversity and place baselines
  • • Community participation
  • • Youth and citizen science
  • • Demonstration pilots
  • • Reusable methods and replication learning

What funding does not subsidise

  • – Generic commercial consulting
  • – Normal private-client operating costs
  • – Routine tourism operations

Grant funding supports public-good and demonstration layers; it does not replace commercial demand for Regenera's paid advisory and implementation work.

What Regenera brings

Phuket as Regenera's founding place of practice and learning

Where methods are developed and tested in a real tourism and coastal context.

Phuket Local Connect

A place evidence and participation layer — not another biodiversity database.

PLACE Method

A practical working method from place and problem through to evidence and evolution. Not a certification or standard.

Implementation coordination

Turning plans into bounded actions with roles, consent and repeat measurement.

Tourism operating context

Where relevant, through separately scoped Silver Hawk Group tourism operations.

Transparent evidence boundaries

Planned / Observed / Measured / Independently Verified. Regenera does not verify its own work.

Funding-readiness capabilities

  • Theory of change
  • Logframe, outcomes and KPIs
  • Risk register
  • Safeguards and consent
  • Governance and partner roles
  • Budget logic
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • Sustainability and exit strategy

Project shelf

Concepts prepared for funding conversations and further co-design — not funded, approved or launched projects. Scope, partners, beneficiaries, budget and safeguards are defined only after fit with a specific call and due diligence.

Concept 1

Phuket Nature & Tourism Living Lab (proposed concept)

Problem
Relevant evidence, business decisions and local action can remain fragmented across organisations and time.
Proposed intervention
A bounded living-lab structure where businesses, community and specialists test practical actions in one defined area.
Intended outputs
Baseline map, action logic, repeat-measurement records, learning notes.
Evidence approach
PLC-recorded baseline → action → repeat evidence, labelled by evidence status.
Potential scaling pathway
A replication playbook for other Thai destinations.
Concept 2

Phuket Youth Place Lab

Problem
Youth observations are not always captured in a consistent, reusable place-evidence format.
Proposed intervention
School and youth inquiry cycles using simple, consented citizen-science methods.
Intended outputs
Student observation records, learning resources, a short public learning note.
Evidence approach
Observed-level records with clear method notes and safeguarding.
Potential scaling pathway
A school network model adaptable to other provinces.
Concept 3

Coastal / Mangrove Place Evidence Pilot

Problem
Public data, field observations and stakeholder knowledge may exist separately and can be difficult to compare over time.
Proposed intervention
A bounded pilot combining public data, field observation and stakeholder input at one site.
Intended outputs
Baseline and evidence-gap map, repeat observations, decision note.
Evidence approach
Qualified specialists where needed; third-party verification only if separately arranged.
Potential scaling pathway
A transferable coastal evidence protocol.
Concept 4

SME Biodiversity-to-Market Programme

Problem
Small tourism businesses may find it hard to know where to start preparing for biodiversity-related market opportunities.
Proposed intervention
A cohort readiness programme building simple evidence habits and practical actions.
Intended outputs
Readiness notes, simple evidence kits, action shortlists per business.
Evidence approach
Self-recorded evidence reviewed for clarity; not certification.
Potential scaling pathway
A cohort format that can be repeated across destinations, including frameworks such as B-MARK where applicable.

External organisations participate only through separately agreed roles. Funding never buys Phuket BiodiverCity coverage or favourable Phuket Local Connect evidence status.
