Regenerative Tourism Practitioner · Founder, Regenera Thailand · Phuket, Thailand

Arunsri Udomvej is a Phuket-based regenerative tourism practitioner working across tourism operations, destination stewardship, biodiversity communication, citizen participation and place-based learning. Her work connects more than two decades of hands-on tourism experience with current experiments in Business Regenerative Tourism and Phuket as a living laboratory.

Biography

Her working life began in Phuket tourism operations. That practical operating background shapes how she approaches sustainability today: as something that has to work under real business constraints, local relationships, seasonality and guest expectations — not only in strategy documents.

Over time the focus widened from delivering trips to asking what tourism leaves behind in the places it depends on. That led into destination stewardship, biodiversity communication and citizen science, and into work with schools and learning institutions where Phuket itself becomes the classroom.

Regenera Thailand is the current vehicle for that work: a small, founder-led practice testing Business Regenerative Tourism in one place, with local partners, and reporting plainly on what is working and what is not yet demonstrated.

Working principles

  • Start from operations. Sustainability that ignores cost, staffing and seasonality does not survive a real trading year.
  • One place, done properly. Phuket is the living laboratory. Depth in one destination is more useful than thin national claims.
  • Local knowledge is professional work. Community knowledge holders are partners who are credited, consented and fairly paid.
  • Say what is not proven. Pilots, working frameworks and untested ideas are labelled as such rather than dressed as results.
