How to Build a 90-Day Hotel Sustainability Roadmap

A useful 90-day hotel sustainability roadmap has six parts: an honest current state, no more than three priorities, one owner for each, an agreed form of evidence, planned follow-up, and a decision at day 90 to adapt, stop or scale. Ninety days is long enough to see whether something works and short enough to keep leadership attention.

Why not launch ten initiatives at once?

Hotel teams are busy. Ten parallel initiatives usually mean ten half-owned projects, thin evidence and a quiet loss of momentum after the launch photos. Three well-owned priorities produce better learning, more credible communication and a clearer case for the next budget.

A simple 90-day structure

  1. Days 1–30

    Current state and priorities

Review what is already happening, hear from the people involved, and choose up to three priorities. Name an owner and agree what evidence will look like for each.

  2. Days 31–60

    Implement and observe

Run the priority actions. Record what happens in a light, consistent format. Note surprises and early obstacles without dressing them up.

  3. Days 61–90

    Follow up and decide

Review evidence with owners. Decide for each priority: adapt, stop or scale. Record limitations honestly and set the next cycle.

What to write down for each priority

  • The problem it addresses, in one sentence.
  • The owner and the time they have.
  • The evidence you will collect and its status (planned, observed, measured).
  • Who else must be involved—departments, suppliers, community partners.
  • The date and format of the day-90 decision.

Where a deeper diagnostic fits

If the first conversation shows that priorities are genuinely unclear across a property or group, Regenera’s Sustainability-to-Impact Diagnostic can build the roadmap with you in more depth. Most teams start with a shorter Executive Place Impact Briefing to decide whether that is needed.

When you need a specialist instead

  • Energy or water engineering audits — use a qualified engineer.
  • Carbon inventory or verification — use a qualified carbon specialist.
  • Regenera Thailand does not issue certification, act as a certification body or auditor, guarantee certification outcomes, or provide formal ESG assurance, carbon verification, ecological surveys, engineering or legal advice. Where those are needed, we say so and help you brief the right specialist.

Frequently asked questions

Why 90 days?

It is long enough to see whether an action works in practice and short enough to keep ownership and leadership attention.

How many priorities should a hotel choose?

Usually no more than three per cycle, each with one accountable owner.

What happens after the first 90 days?

You decide for each priority whether to adapt, stop or scale, and start the next cycle with what you learned.

Discuss one practical challenge

Start with one conversation about where your next 90 days should go. The briefing is designed to give clarity for that decision.
